Barcelona might be famous for its mouthwatering tapas bars and Michelin-starred restaurants, but sometimes the best meal is found in a neighborhood gem — the kind of place locals whisper about.
That’s exactly what Cibulet in Gràcia is: intimate, creative, and unforgettable.
If you’re looking for the best local restaurants in Barcelona where food feels like art but the service is down-to-earth, this is your spot.
✨ In this Cibulet Barcelona review, I’ll share what makes this spot so special, how to get there, what we ordered (warning: you’ll get hungry), and why Cibulet deserves a spot on your Barcelona food itinerary.
about Cibulet
Chef Toni Garcia didn’t start out as a chef — he actually began as a programmer before deciding to follow his true passion: food.
Growing up, he was surrounded by the warmth of family meals, which planted the seed for his culinary curiosity. That curiosity eventually led him to travel the world, tasting and studying flavors from different cultures. When he returned home, he decided to channel those experiences into something deeply personal: Cibulet. Which also means chive in Catalan.
At his restaurant, Toni blends his international influences with the roots of Mediterranean cuisine, creating dishes that are both surprising and comforting.
His goal isn’t just to feed his guests, but to nourish them — body and soul — with food made from seasonal, local ingredients and a whole lot of love.
getting there
Cibulet is located in the Gràcia neighborhood, just a short ride from the city center.
METRO
Take the L1 (Red Line) to Gran de Gràcia – Jesus and walk about 4 minutes.
You can also hop off at Diagonal Station (L3 – Green Line, L5 – Blue Line), which is just a short stroll away.
WALK
If you’re staying nearby, walking is the best way to soak up Gràcia’s charm. This neighborhood is one of Barcelona’s most alluring spots — think modern Catalan architecture, hip boutiques, lively bars, and local restaurants tucked around every corner.

Grab the Hola Barcelona Travel Card for unlimited metro, bus, and tram rides — it’ll save you money and time if you’re exploring beyond Gràcia.
the vibe
Step inside and you’re immediately wrapped in cozy warmth: rustic brick and cement walls, soft yellow hue lighting, and the kind of intimate setting where every table feels special.
Reservations are a must — the space is small and fills up fast — but that only adds to its uniqueness.
When we visited, Chef Toni himself greeted us with a big smile that set the tone for the evening. The vibe is romantic without being stuffy, perfect for date night but equally welcoming if you’re dining solo or with a friend. It’s one of those rare places that feels both laid-back and quietly magical.
the menu
One thing to know: the Cibulet Barcelona menu changes seasonally. Chef Toni builds each menu around fresh, local Mediterranean ingredients, so your experience will always be unique.

final thoughts
So, would we go back?
Uhhh… YES. 1000 times yes.
Cibulet is one of those places that sneaks into your memory and stays there — a little cozy neighborhood gem with a creative foodie twist.
Chef Toni didn’t just make an incredible meal for us; he made us feel like we were part of his story.
We laughed, we ate (a lot), and every dish was crafted with such artistry that I found myself slowing down just to savor each bite. And honestly? If we lived in Barcelona, this would be our “every other week” spot. It’s that good.
This is exactly the kind of hidden small business I love spotlighting on EVERLASTYING — full of passion, creativity, and warmth.
If my review has you craving something beyond the touristy tapas, let this be your sign: book a table at Cibulet. You’ll leave full, happy, and maybe even a little inspired to explore a bit more.
