If you’re on the hunt for a trendy café in Ho Chi Minh City with a huge following, Eggyolk Coffee should be high on your list of places to visit. This spot blends minimalist design with yolk-themed drinks and desserts that are as photogenic as they are unique.
Whether you’re on a business trip looking for a chill workspace or a couple exploring the Saigon cafe scene, this one hits that rare combo of cool and comforting.
Expect a sleek interior, super sweet staff, and drinks topped with adorable candied egg yolks (yes, even the pastries!).
the vibe at Eggyolk Coffee
Minimalist charm, coffee with a twist, and sweets that almost look too cute to eat.
My partner and I got there super early before breakfast (which was a smart move because it got busy fast).
The space was modern, spotless, and totally Instagrammable.
English-speaking staff welcomed us in, and the pastry counter? Chef’s kiss.

food + drink highlight
I ordered the Nutella Charcoal Timbering first because they needed time to prepare my Eggyolk Crack Matcha, and it was super cute. I soon realized that the egg yolk on the chocolate croissant wasn’t a real egg yolk but rather a candied version, which I found to be quite adorable.
— What We Ordered —
Nutella Charcoal Timbering
Kinda like a Nutella croissant with a glossy yellow candy shaped like an egg yolk on top. I’m not entirely sure what the term “timbering” means in relation to desserts, but it refers to a series of desserts shaped like this, all featuring an egg yolk on top.
The pastry itself wasn’t overly sweet, but the candy egg added a sugary kick. Overall, it still remained pleasantly balanced in sweetness.
Eggyolk Crack Matcha
Creamy matcha topped with a whipped egg-yolk-style foam (since I don’t drink coffee!)
It came with a diluted coffee on the side — basically, a bit of coffee mixed with a ton of water. I’ve noticed that this is something common in Vietnam, where drinks like tea or coffee often come with extra water.
While I was taking pictures of my matcha, I noticed that the egg yolk on my Nutella Charcoal Timbering started to slowly slip off! I didn’t even move the pastry; it was just sliding down! ˙◠˙

Saigon Opera House
Stunning French-colonial architecture, and yes, you can still purchase tickets to enjoy their performances!
Another great café with a retro Vietnamese vibe with a modern aesthetic. They are particularly famous for their Vietnamese coffee.
