Luxury meets history in Barcelona — here’s why Serras is where you’ll want to wake up next.
Imagine ending your Barcelona trip wrapped in soft robes, sipping cava on a balcony, and waking up in a room kissed by Mediterranean light. That’s exactly how we spent our final night at The Serras Barcelona—and let me tell you, it was the perfect goodbye.
We didn’t have time to experience every amenity (rainy weather and early flights will do that), but what we did experience was enough to make us want to come back for more — and also help you decide if this is where you should splurge too.

about Serras Barcelona
Most Serras Barcelona reviews highlight the unbeatable views, exceptional service, and design-forward interiors — and honestly, I totally get it.
This stunning five-star hotel is just steps away from iconic Barcelona attractions such as Ciutadella Park, the Museu Picasso, and the Gothic Quarter.
What’s even cooler is that the rooftop of this hotel served as Pablo Picasso's first-ever art studio, where he created several iconic works, including "Ciencia y Caridad," at the young age of 15.
The building was designed in 1846 by Francesc Daniel Molina, who is also the architect behind Plaça Reial.
Inside, designer Eva Martinez skillfully combines warm woods, Catalan textures, and sleek elegance to create a modern sanctuary in this historic city.
getting to Serras
Here’s how to make your way to Serras without stress:
Flying into El Prat (BCN)?
🚖 TAXI
Easiest with luggage. A 20 – 25 min ride straight to the door
📲 UBER
It technically works in Barcelona, but getting a ride can take a lot longer than getting a taxi — plan for delays.
🚇 METRO
More effort, but doable! Hop on the A1 or A2 airport bus → transfer to L3 (Green Line) → get off at Drassanes → walk about 12 mins. It’s cobblestone-heavy, so maybe not ideal with big suitcases.
checking in
When we arrived, the rain was coming down, but inside the Serras, it was warm, dry, and full of thoughtful touches. The doorman took our luggage, and we were welcomed with cava, towels, and chocolates.
The vibe?
Understated luxury with zero pretension.
After the usual passport-and-credit-card routine, our host gave us a quick intro tour: Our host gave us a quick tour of the property:
✔️ Rooftop pool
✔️ Michelin-star restaurant at Informal
✔️ Reading + games lounge
✔️ Gym + spa area
We arrived a bit early, but they offered to message us when the room was ready. That gave us time to explore the neighborhood, sip on a quick cortado, and soak in the city’s rhythm.
By 2 PM? We received a text: “Your room is ready.”
Talk about smooth service — they even let us settle in ahead of schedule.
Superior Room overview
We stayed in the Superior Room — and I immediately fell in love when we got settled in.
Cava + snacks
+ handwritten note
The handwritten note, cava, and charcuterie board (meat, cheese, and chocolate!) made this arrival feel instantly more personal and luxe.
King bed
Soft pillows, a spacious bed to roll around on, and a fluffy comforter for a good night's sleep.
Wooden keycard
A keycard made of wood — not plastic.
Unique, eco-conscious, and yes, it still scans perfectly well.
Diptyque amenities
From lotion to shampoo, the entire bathroom is stocked with Diptyque. You’ll smell like a dream come true.
Cell phone
+ digital guide
Forgot a SIM card? No worries.
They offer a phone with service and a digital guide with curated local picks.
Slippers
His and hers slippers — soft, cozy, and the kind of touch that makes you feel instantly at home.
Steamer
If you like your clothes wrinkle-free, there's a mini steamer in the closet to keep them crisp and ready for the camera.
Turndown service
Water, cups, and a small dessert by the bed — a thoughtful end-of-day gesture that makes you feel seen.

breakfast
Breakfast is served from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM and features farm-fresh local ingredients, buffet options, and à la carte selections.
We only had breakfast here (we already had dinner plans elsewhere), but now we need to return for the full Serras Barcelona experience!!
If you don’t feel like leaving your room, there’s 24-hour room service.
Since it was our last day, we decided to eat our breakfast downstairs to get the whole experience of Serras!
amenities
We didn’t get to a lot of the amenities at Serras since we only stayed for one night,
but here’s what you can expect:
🏊 Rooftop pool & bar
🧖♀️ Spa (book at the front desk)
🏋️♂️ Gym with essentials
📚 Lounge with books + games (Picasso themes, of course)
Once we had settled into our room, we decided to head to the library lounge to relax. We spent the evening sipping cava and playing cards, which unexpectedly turned out to be one of our favorite moments at the Serras.
