Flamenco is the beach everyone knows on Culebra, and I totally get why. The sand is powdery white, the water is clear and blue, and a WWII tank the Navy left behind sits nearby like it got lost. It's also the island's most social beach, with music, food stands, and real bathrooms. If you want wild and quiet, Zoní is still my number one, but if you want easy and lively, this is your beach.
We came straight here after dropping our bags at Aleli Cottages in January, and the weather was perfect. Getting to Culebra takes a little effort, but this beach makes it worth it.
Getting There
For ferry and flight options to get to Culebra, see getting there in my Culebra guide. We flew in, and it was such an experience (here's how my Cape Air flight went).

Once you land, rent a golf cart or Jeep to explore at your own pace, or take a taxi from the ferry. If you're feeling more adventurous, you can walk over from the ferry, which is about an hour-ish walk.
What to See
Water activities
Swim, grab your snorkel gear to explore the marine life, kayak, or just dive into the beach and ride the waves.
On the sand
Walk the shoreline, or do what everyone else does: play volleyball, frisbee, or lie in the sun with music playing.
Beach chair and umbrella rentals are available, though we brought the chairs from Aleli.
WWII tank
Don't forget to explore beyond the beach! Visit the World War II tank that was left behind by the Navy in 1975
Pack out your trash and respect the wildlife, so the beach stays beautiful for the next visitors.
Flamenco Experiences You'll Love
Make a Day Out of It
Dinner at Susie's is a short ride away, so book ahead. For a quieter beach, Playa Zoní is my favorite, and Culebrita is worth a boat day. We stayed at Aleli Cottages, which was our home away from home.
Final Thoughts
Flamenco was our first stop on Culebra, and I was in awe the moment we arrived.
The sand was whiter and softer than I expected, and the water was that unreal blue. It was January and the weather was perfect, with music in the air and people dancing, swimming, and soaking up the sun.
We wandered away from the crowds along the shoreline, and that's where we saw a rainbow over the water, which frankly made the start of this trip feel a little magical. My advice is to walk the whole stretch, not just stay by the food stands and the crowds.
