💥 Rage Cage

Also known as a "rage room" or "anger room," Rage Cage in East Williamsburg is exactly what it sounds like: a space where you get to smash provided items — electronics, plates, whatever's in your session — using your bare hands or a bat. You have to be 18+ (or 13+ with a guardian), sign a waiver, and gear up in protective gear (helmet, jumpsuit, gloves) before you're let loose. Closed-toe shoes are a must since they don't provide any protection.
I went in skeptical but came out genuinely surprised. I ended up enjoying watching my partner and brother smash things almost as much as smashing them myself. There's something oddly therapeutic about it; if you've got pent-up stress to release, this is a weirdly perfect way to do it.
Between the bats, the music, and the phone mounts for recording your own chaos, it's a great group activity that turns into a lot of laughs.
🏹 Gotham Archery

A Brooklyn archery spot in Gowanus perfect for channeling your inner Katniss Everdeen — whether you're a total beginner or looking to sharpen your aim.
I signed up for the Introductory Class with my partner and brother (after filling out a quick waiver online), and it turned out to be way bigger and more impressive than I expected once we stepped inside. The range is spacious, with separate areas for different skill levels, so it never feels crowded or intimidating.
Our instructors made everything easy to pick up — posture, aim, release, all broken down step by step — and all the gear is provided, so there's no need to rent or buy your own equipment beforehand.
The best part was the vibe: zero pressure to be perfect, just people having fun and chasing that bullseye. If you loved playing archer in a video game as a kid (looking at you, MapleStory fans), this is basically living out that fantasy in real life.
Yoseka Stationery

A cute little stationery shop in Greenpoint with exposed brick and industrial décor, stocked with unique, high-quality Asian stationery — fountain pens, washi tape, stamps, planners, all of it.
What makes Yoseka different than other stationery stores is their tester tables: unlike most shops, you can actually try products before you buy, so you leave knowing exactly what you love instead of guessing.
The shop was started by Daisy and Neil, a Taiwanese couple who grew up surrounded by stationery culture back home and noticed American shops just didn't have the same variety.
They began with pop-up markets, letting people test items hands-on instead of explaining the appeal — which is exactly how the tester-table concept was born. They opened their first store in Sunnyside in 2018 and have since moved to Greenpoint, where they now run occasional workshops for anyone looking to level up their penmanship or craft skills.
If you're even a little into stationery, this is a must-visit — it's less a shop and more a little community hub for people who genuinely love the items.

A pirate-themed spot in Red Hook, Brooklyn with mini golf, an arcade, and escape rooms all under one roof — perfect if you want a few hours of pure, no-pressure fun.
The mini golf course is the highlight: a tropical, pirate-ship-inspired layout with gold interactive tokens that trigger surprises along the way, ending on a fun New York City subway-themed hole that brings you right back to Brooklyn after your "voyage."
Even though I came in last, I still had a blast. The course isn't timed, so you can take it slow and just enjoy it. The arcade's a solid way to kill time before your slot (grab a rechargeable card at the kiosk), and while I haven't tried the escape rooms yet, they're on my list for next time.
Your reservation time is your entrance-to-queue time, not your start time, so show up a little early.
