4 Best Boba Spots in NYC
I've been obsessed with boba — or bubble tea, as the people on the East Coast call it — since I was a kid. Growing up, I was always scouting new spots, trying everything, and eventually landing on my go-tos, the ones I stay loyal to no matter what.
So if you're wondering which boba spots in NYC are actually worth it, here are my favorites — the ones you shouldn't skip out on.
heytea
📍 Locations across Manhattan, Brooklyn & Queens
A delicious Chinese milk tea spot known for seasonal, refreshing drinks that actually change with the seasons instead of running the same menu year-round. They've got multiple locations scattered across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens, so there's a good chance there's one near you. Definitely a must-try.
MollyTea
📍 Chinatown, Manhattan & Flushing, Queens | 🧋Order: Pistachio Jasmine Coconut
Originally branded as Molly Tea with a Chinese flower logo, the brand had a rocky stretch after a trademark dispute with Louis Vuitton forced them to drop it — a frustrating hit for a small business, but they've pushed through it. What hasn't changed is the tea itself, which they call the luxurious tea of China, and frankly, I get why. I went once when the line was somehow short (a rarity — this place usually has a long line out the door), and one sip in, I was hooked. I don't think I'd ever tasted something so good or so refreshing. Get the Pistachio Jasmine Coconut — trust me on this one.
Chicha San Chen 🧋
🇹🇼 Taiwanese milk tea | 📍 Chinatown, Manhattan
A Taiwanese milk tea spot that opened its first NYC location right in Chinatown — and the line on opening was no joke. They serve the exact same drinks you'd find at their shops in Taiwan (I've actually been to their Taichung concept store, and it didn't disappoint), all made with their own custom teaspresso machine. That means the quality stays consistent every single time, so you're never rolling the dice on a bad batch.
Alimama Tea
🍡 Mochi donuts + drinks | 📍 Chinatown, Manhattan
Delicious mochi donuts paired with genuinely good drinks. Light, refreshing, and just an easy win all around.
