Imagine this — white sand beaches, warm turquoise water, and a property so reminiscent of the Greek coast that you'll do a double-take.
That's Skyebay Club in Kenting, Taiwan.
We only stayed one night and frankly left wishing we had booked at least three.
Between the freshest fish dinner I've had in recent memory, a bathtub built for two, and a sunset that stopped us mid-conversation — Kenting's best kept secret might just be this incredible 3-star stay right next to Baisha Beach.
about SkyeBay Club
Skyebay Club is a massive 3-star property in Kenting with thousands of glowing reviews — and once you arrive, it's easy to see and understand why people are raving about this stay.
The whitewashed exterior and laid-back Mediterranean energy (in some areas) immediately reminded my fiancé and me of our time in Greece, which is not something you expect to feel in southern Taiwan. The property is massive — we're talking wide open spaces, swings to lounge on, a recreation center, a café lounge, a restaurant, and enough room to wander and get genuinely lost.
The overall vibe is chill, unhurried, and exactly what Kenting should feel like.
getting there
Kenting is best reached by car or scooter from Kaohsiung, about 1.5 – 2 hours south.
We were already on the east coast, coming from Taitung, so it was an easy, breezy drive straight down — honestly, one of the more scenic drives of the trip. Skyebay Club has a huge free parking lot on site, so driving is genuinely the easiest option.
checking in
Check-in was smooth, and the staff were genuinely warm and chill the whole time.
After getting your key, one of the staff will walk you outside the main building to the golf cart — load your luggage in the back, hop on, and they'll drive you straight to your room. It's a small touch, but it immediately sets the tone for your stay, especially when the property is this sprawling. 🛺
room overview
We stayed in the Deluxe Room, which came with its own private balcony with a partial ocean view — still a bit far, but enough to sit outside with a beer in hand, watch the stars, and do absolutely nothing. We only wished we had more nights to take advantage of it.
Inside, the room was spacious and thoughtfully put together.
But my favorite part?
The bathroom.
The shower and bathtub are in two completely separate areas, and the bathtub is big enough for two. I brought the bath salts we made at Deep Breath B&B in Hualien and soaked for way too long. No regrets.
The bathroom amenities were a nice surprise too — Dyson hair dryer, and a full line of Malin + Goetz hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and body lotion. A New York-based brand in a 3-star resort in Kenting, Taiwan? Didn't see that coming — but honestly loved that they knew what they were doing with their product choices.
dining
Dinner
Hands down one of the most memorable dinners of our entire Taiwan trip.
Skyebay Club has a fresh catch of the day — the fishermen bring in their catch, it gets frozen fresh, and you walk up and pick the exact fish you want. Since I'm pescatarian but honestly not a fish expert, we asked the staff for their recommendation. They asked how we wanted it cooked — steamed, fried, and more cooking styles — and took it from there.
🐟 ONE THING TO KNOW: Order the fish the moment you arrive at the restaurant, then order everything else after. The fish needs time to properly defrost before cooking, and it takes a while.
We made the smart call ordering the fish first — but even then, after finishing pretty much everything else on our table, we were still waiting. When we asked if they'd forgotten it, they said it was still cooking. A heads-up from the sta ff about the wait time would have gone a long way. Just something to be aware of so you're not caught off guard.
That said — worth every minute of the wait.
The seafood was incredibly fresh; you could taste it in every bite. We ordered way more food than we should have, split an incredible bottle of white wine, and somehow finished it all.
This was one of those meals you talk about for months after.
Breakfast
Breakfast is included with your stay and served at the same restaurant as dinner — and it is massive. The only thing is that it's a set meal, so you don't get to customize portions or pick your dishes.
After our huge dinner the night before, we still felt pretty full in the morning, so we could barely make a dent in our breakfast, which genuinely made me feel bad for wasting so much food…
A self-serve café lounge next door is also available if you just need your morning coffee fix without committing to the full sit-down meal.
amenities
Recreation center
There's a central recreation area where you can play foosball, flip through magazines, do laundry, or let the kids play in the dedicated play section.
Laundry and dryer machines are available for NT$50 each — bring NT$10 coins, you'll need five per machine. You can also exchange coins at the front desk.
Property grounds
The property itself is an experience. Wide open walking paths, swings scattered throughout, and some of the best sunset views we caught on this trip. Even just wandering around in the evening felt worth it.
what's nearby
Baishawan Beach 白沙灣
Skyebay Club sits right next to Baishawan Beach — one of Kenting's most beautiful white sand beaches.
You can either drive down (free parking available) or walk over. Once there, you can rent chairs, umbrellas, and all the beach gear you need.
The water was around 70°F, incredibly clear, and frankly stunning. We went early in the morning to squeeze in a swim before heading to Kaohsiung — the rain had cleared overnight and the sun was fully out. No crowds. Just us, the water, and the kind of morning you don't forget. I got tan within 30 minutes. The water was perfect. Another one of my favorite memories from this entire trip. 🌊
is it worth it?
Yes — but stay longer than one night!
We said it while we were there and I'll say it again here: Skyebay Club deserves at least 2 - 3 nights to actually enjoy everything it has to offer. The dinner alone is worth the trip. The bathtub is worth the trip. The sunset from the grounds is worth the trip.
For a 3-star property, the experience punched well above its price point.
The Greek-inspired exterior, the warm service, the golf cart welcome, the fresh fish dinner — it all comes together into something that feels genuinely special. Would we stay again? Absolutely.
